Two faculty members published in latest edition of Clinics in Perinatology

Also features our own Dr. Caleb Ing as Guest Editor

Dr. Allison Lee and Dr. Laurence Ring, members of the Division of Obstetric Anesthesia, each have articles appearing in the December 2019 issue of Clinics in Perinatology.  This issue of the quarterly journal focuses on the topic “Anesthesia, Sedation, and Pain Control,” with guest editor, our own Dr. Caleb Ing, from the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia.

In “Effects of Vasoactive Medications and Maternal Positioning during Caesarean Delivery on Maternal Hemodynamics and Neonatal Acid-Base Status,” Dr. Lee, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Medical Director of the Margaret Wood Center for Simulation & Education, and co-author, Dr. Warwick Ngan Kee, Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at Sidra Medicine (Doha, Qatar), review the evidence-based management of vasopressors and maternal positioning during cesarean delivery.

Dr. Ring, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, Director of Fetal Anesthesia and Associate  Director of Anesthesia at the Allen Hospital, and co-author Dr. Yehuda Ginosar, Chief of the Division of Obstetric Anesthesia at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, provide a review titled, “Anesthesia for Fetal Surgery and Fetal Procedures,” and highlight the unique maternal and fetal physiology considerations for the anesthesiologist in the rapidly developing field of fetal anesthesia.

As part of his role as Guest Editor, Dr. Ing also co-wrote the introduction to this edition of Clinics in Perinatology. This is the first time Dr. Ing has served as a guest editor.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Lee, Dr. Ring and Dr. Ing on their latest accomplishments.
