Dr. Adam Gerber

Congratulations to Dr. Adam Gerber for his most recent grant award, “Direct effect of mutant alpha-1 anti-trypsin on the lung,” which is funded for two years by the Alpha-1 Foundation. Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency is a genetic condition that results in a predisposition to chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder.

Dr. Gerber also is a recent recipient of the Mentored Research Training Grant from the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research for his study, “Attenuation of LPS induced lung injury with an inhaled MMP inhibitor.” The grant, which also is for a two-year period, is a highly competitive career development award, and an important step toward research independence.

Great work, Dr. Gerber!
