Congratulations to the Yang lab!

Guang Yang, PhD, will receive $1,289,925 over five years from the National Institute on Aging for “Pathogenesis of Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction.”

Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD), the most common postoperative complication among geriatric patients and an important research area in the field of geriatrics and aging, is associated with substantially increased Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, morbidity, and mortality as well as cost of care. How POCD develops, however, is still largely unknown. The efforts of Dr. Yang and her team ultimately could lead to better postoperative outcomes for geriatric patients. Congratulations, Team Yang!
