Medics On a Mission Joins Department Global Partnerships

The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center takes great pride in partnering with a number of humanitarian organizations here at home and worldwide to deliver much-needed care to underserved populations. Each year, members of our faculty volunteer their skills and time to care for patients or support additional training and mentorship to health care providers in hospitals, clinics, and schools around the world.

Our global community consists of a number of humanitarian organizations that provide our faculty, fellows, and residents with opportunities to expand their reach beyond the operating rooms. The Department of Anesthesiology is pleased to announce the addition of Medics On A Mission to our list of global community partnerships. Founded by Allison Lee, MD, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, Medics On A Mission is dedicated to the goal of providing medical and surgical services for the poor, as well as advancing the education skills of medical professionals in developing counties. Medics On A Mission relies on volunteer physicians donating their time and skills in collaboration with local medical professionals.

Our partnership with Medics On A Mission is one of many ways the Department of Anesthesiology continues to grow our global community and provide our team with ways to share the skills they learn here with the world.
