Dr. Marie-Louise Meng

Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology

Research Description

Our research focuses on pregnant women with pulmonary hypertension. Collaborating with obstetrical anesthesiologists at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the University of Chicago, we investigate the obstetrical, medical and anesthetic management of these women. By looking at maternal and fetal outcomes we hope to identify optimal methods of care for these women.

Our work centers on women with post-partum pre-eclampsia. We are creating a database of women who develop pre-eclampsia more than 48 hours after delivery to identify risk factors for this condition. Additionally, in collaboration with Dr. Matija Snuderl at NYU Langone Medical Center, we will conduct epigenetic profiling of these women.

With the goal of quality improvements on the labor floor, we are standardizing and streamlining the process of maternal care during the transition from vaginal delivery to intrapartum cesarean delivery.
