Dr. Jean Guglielminotti, Dr. Allison J. Lee and Dr. Katharine Thompson Awarded at SOAP

Members of the Department of Anesthesiology and the Obstetric Anesthesia Division are proud to announce that three members of our team, Dr. Jean Guglielminotti, Dr. Allison J. Lee and Dr. Kathrine Thompson, received recognition for their productivity and meaningful contributions to our field at the 51st Annual Meeting of the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) in Phoenix.

Dr. Jean Guglielminotti

Dr. Jean Guglielminotti is the recipient of SOAP’s Patient Safety Award for “Association between general anesthesia for caesarian delivery and postpartum depression requiring hospitalization.”  Dr. Guglielminotti has published a series of impactful studies in obstetric anesthesia safety and maternal health.  He applies rigorous study design, sophisticated statistical methods, and complex data systems to address healthcare policy questions pertinent to obstetric anesthesia safety and maternal health.

 

 

Dr. Allison J. Lee

Dr. Allison J. Lee is the recipient of SOAP’s Research in Education Award for “Learning outcomes of a serious video game­­ – based experiment: a battle of the sexes.” In January 2018 she was awarded an FAER research grant to support her studies in game-based learning.  She recently also received the Dean’s nomination for the competitive Macy Faculty Scholars Program research grant, also for a 3-D serious video game project.

 

Dr. Kathrine Thompson

Dr. Kathrine Thompson is the recipient of SOAP's Best Case Report for her presentation on "Optimal pain management in a patient on suboxone after a planned repeat cesarean delivery turning into an unexpected cesarean/hysterectomy for morbidly adherent placenta (accreta)". The presentation was co-authored by Dr. Jaclyn Snikeris and Dr. Ruth Landau. Dr. Thompson is a postdoctoral residency Fellow at CUIMC.
