Dr. H.T. Lee Receives 2018 Outstanding Alumni Award

On Wednesday, November 7th, Dr. H.T. Lee received the 2018 Outstanding Alumni Award of NYP/CUMC Residency Programs. He, along with Dr. Vivette D. D'Agati, professor of pathology and cell biology and director of the renal pathology division, was honored for their work and accomplishments in research and clinical care. The event was held at the New York Academy of Medicine and featured guest speaker, Dr. Peter Salgo, professor of anesthesiology and medicine.

Dr. Lee is an esteemed graduate of our anesthesiology residency program who has had a career of outstanding work and meaningful impact in the field of anesthesiology and perioperative organ injury. Dr. Lee is a role model and leader within our department and institution.  He cares for the most complex surgical patients undergoing major intra-abdominal surgeries and is a member of a small group of faculty to care for liver transplant patients. Dr. Lee serves as the Director of the fellowship for Transplantation Anesthesiology and is the Departmental Vice Chair for Laboratory Research.  In these capacities, he instructs anesthesiology residents and fellows in the complex clinical care and basic science physiology of patients subjected to organ ischemia and reperfusion injury. Dr. Lee is recognized as one of the most talented clinical anesthesiologists at Columbia.
