Congratulations Dr. Rebecca Martinez

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Rebecca Martinez, a CA-3 resident within our department, who has been selected by the nurses of NewYork Presbyterian Hospital as the 2018 recipient of

the Physician of the Year Award. Dr. Martinez received this honor in recognition of her exceptional collaboration skills and her outstanding dedication to patient care excellence.

In 2011, Dr. Martinez graduated from Harvard College with a degree in the History of Science and a secondary degree in Global Health & Health Policy. After that, she attended medical school at Columbia’s College of Physicians and Surgeons where she was an active participant in student-run clinics. After graduating in 2015, Dr. Martinez initially joined NYPH as a Surgery resident. Shortly after that, she realized that she had an immense passion for anesthesiology and critical care medicine and decided to join our anesthesiology residency program. Dr. Martinezactiv is actively involved in several collaborative and quality improvement initiatives. She is currently a member of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Interdisciplinary Committee where she serves as a liaison between our department and the PACU nursing team. She is also a member of the NYPH Elevator Committee where she strategizes new ways to improve the safety and efficiency of intra-hospital transport.   

Dr. Martinez’s commitment to patient care excellence and her hard work is an excellent representation of our department’s mission to be the best in the country.
