Congratulations to Dr. Eric Heyer and Dr. Robert Sladen

We are delighted to announce that two of our emeritus faculty members have been accepted to the Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE). Congratulations to Dr. Eric Heyer, Professor Emeritus of Anesthesiology, and Dr. Robert Sladen, Allen Hyman Professor Emeritus of Critical Care Anesthesiology, for their wonderful achievement.

The distinction merited by ACE membership defines faculty who are transformational clinical leaders. Throughout their esteemed careers in our department, Drs. Heyer and Sladen created mechanisms for clinical guidance and mentoring that fostered leadership potential among their trainees.  By their example, they helped to direct a system of medical education that upholds the values, attitudes and behavior, in addition to clinical skills, appropriate for developing physicians at a world-class institution.      

As active ACE members, Dr. Heyer and Dr. Sladen will continue to sustain our distinguished lineage of clinical leadership and tradition of excellence. Their accomplishment will be celebrated during the ACE 2019 Annual New Member Induction Ceremony, at the Vagelos Education Center on May 16, 2019.
