The Allen I. Hyman, MD Lecture Series for 2017

As part of our annual Allen I. Hyman, MD Lecture series, the Department of Anesthesiology recently had the honor to host Dr. Edward D. Miller, MD, Dean & CEO Emeritus, John Hopkins Medicine, Professor of Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine, John Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Miller presented his lecture entitled "John Hopkins and the Creation of Modern Medicine Competencies." An anesthesiologist who has authored or co-authored more than 150 papers, abstracts, and book chapters, Dr. Miller's vision to improve access through the development of a regional, integrated health care delivery system led to the successful acquisition and integration of various area hospitals into John Hopkins Medicine.

The Allen I. Hyman, MD Lecture series is traditionally the first endowed lecture of the academic year and explores the breakthroughs and evolution of anesthesiology practices through the years.
